Satellite retrievals over the Great Salt Lake are available from a number of sources:
1). NOAA Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR)
Raw satellite thermal radiances: available at 1.1 km nadir resolution, twice daily, 1985-present.
2). NASA Moderate Resolution Imaging Specroradiometer (MODIS)
1.0 km resolution, twice daily, Feb 2000-present.
3). Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite
6.0 km resolution, hourly, 2003-present.
4). Along-track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR-2)
1.0 km resolution, twice daily, variable coverage
Archived AVHRR (1 km resolution, 1985-present) and GOES (6 km resolution, 2003-present) thermal retrievals are available from NOAA at the Active Satellite Archive
. Post-processed Pathfinder AVHRR SST data at lower resolution (4 km) is available from the NASA Physical Oceanography DAAC.
MODIS Terra and Aqua data (1 km resolution, 2000-present) is available from NASA'sDAAC
Post-processed MODIS SST data at lower resolution (4 km) is also available from the NASA Physical Oceanography DAAC.
