Intermountain Workshop
The Thirteenth Annual Workshop on Weather Prediction in the Intermountain West was held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 on the University of Utah campus. The objectives of this annual workshop series are to discuss major issues related to operational meteorology over the western United States and to foster interaction among researchers, applied meteorologists, and other professionals who rely on operational weather forecasts or data.

Logistics

This year's workshop will be held in a new location on the University of Utah campus, the Chase N. Petersen Heritage Center in Fort Douglas. The Heritage Center is within walking distance from the University Guest House, which is available for participants requiring lodging. Free parking is available in the lot behind the Fort Douglas Officer's Club. Signs will be posted to indicate the parking area as well as paths to the Heritage Center. Direction and maps to the facilities are available here.

Attendees from beyond the Wasatch Front may contact the University Guest House at (888) 416-4075 for reservations. A limited number of rooms have been reserved for the "Weather Prediction Workshop" at a rate of $69/night for November 15 and 16; reservations must be made by October 16.

Finding the Heritage Center

Those staying at the Guest House have a short walk towards the southeast. You may also travel by TRAX- exit at the Ft. Douglas station and head east across the Legacy pedestrian brige. Parking is available by following signs to a parking area near the Fort Douglas Officer's Club. Click here for a map.
