Xuanli Li successfully defends her Doctoral Dissertation in May 2008

The Department of Meteorology announces that Xuanli Li successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on May 20, 2008, entitled "High-resolution numerical simulation of tropical cyclone intensity change with assimilation of satellite, radar and in-situ data."  The dissertation research was conducted under the direction of Dr. Zhaoxia Pu, with Supervisory Committee Members Drs. John D. Horel, Gerald G. Mace, Juanzhen (Jenny) Sun, and Edward J. Zipser.  Ms. Li is expecting to obtain a post doctoral position.
