Leigh Jones successfully defends her Master's thesis in April 2009.

The Department of Atmospheric Sciences announces that Leigh Jones successfully defended her Master's Thesis entitled "Assessing the Sensitivity of Wasatch Mountain Winter Precipitation to Climate Temperature Variations" on April 29, 2009.  The thesis research was conducted under the direction of John D. Horel, Chair, with Supervisory Committee members Thomas J. Reichler and Randall P. Julander.  Leigh is from Greensboro, North Carolina.  She received her Bachelor's degree in Meteorology and Marine Science from North Carolina State University.  This summer Leigh is fighting wildland fire for Unified Fire Authority of Salt Lake County.
