Membership   Announcements

Any person interested in promoting philosophy of law or political and social philosophy, who has been or is engaged in a relevant discipline (law, philosophy, and social science are the most common), is eligible for membership in AMINTAPHIL.

Membership requires approval by the Executive Director and payment of dues of $30 per year. Members are entitled to receive a copy of the volume that originates from AMINTAPHIL conferences at no extra charge.

Advanced Graduate students in the relevant disciplines are eligible for membership if they are working on their dissertations or already have an advanced degree in a relevant subject.

2014 CONFERENCE

The next AMINTAPHIL conference will be held at Chapman University, Orange, CA from Oct. 9 – 11,  2014. The topic is currently being decided and will be announced here soon.

The next World Congress of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR) will be held from July 21 – 27 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The topic is “Human Rights, Rule of Law, and the Contemporary Social Changes in Complex Societies.” More information can be found at http://www.ivr2013.org/hotsite/english/.

The AMINTAPHIL volume from the 2010 Conference, "Economic Justice", has been published. The editors are Helen Stacy, Stanford Law School, and Win-Chiat Lee, Wake Forst College The volume is published by Springer Science and Business Media as part of a series entitled AMINTAPHIL: The Philosophical Foundations of Law and Justice. The IVR publishes the Archives for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (ARSP). Members of AMINTAPHIL are entitled to a 30 percent discount on subscriptions. Kluwer offers members a 50 percent discount on subscriptions to its journal, Law and Philosophy.
