Gathered data from selected stations for both winter and summer periods from 1997-2001 are processed and plotted into windroses.
Windroses indicate what direction the wind is blowing from and the percentage of time the wind blows from that direction.
The longer the line in a particular direction the greater the percentage of time the wind blows from that direction. These particular windroses breakdown speeds in each direction as well. An animation of such graphics allows easy observation of the diurnal cycle for these selected stations.
Windroses are available for Winter (DJF), Spring (MAM), Summer (JJA), and Fall (SON) seasons. Each hour graphic indicates the number of observations compiled to produce graphic of that particular hour. A legend is provide to help understand the data plotted in these graphics.
