IVR   Announcements

Members of AMINTAPHIL are automatically members of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy and are welcome to attend its World Congresses. Scholars in political and legal philosophy from all over the world are in attendance. IVR congresses are a wonderful opportunity to share ideas with colleagues from across the globe.

The 2011 IVR Congress will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from  Aug 15 – 20, 2011. The General Topic is Law, Science and Technology. The web site for the Congress is at http://www.ivr2011.org/. It currently contains little information. Check it for further information over time.

The next AMINTAPHIL conference will be held at Chapman University, Orange, CA from Oct. 9 – 11,  2014. The topic is currently being decided and will be announced here soon.

The next World Congress of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR) will be held from July 21 – 27 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The topic is “Human Rights, Rule of Law, and the Contemporary Social Changes in Complex Societies.” More information can be found at http://www.ivr2013.org/hotsite/english/.

The AMINTAPHIL volume from the 2010 Conference, "Economic Justice", has been published. The editors are Helen Stacy, Stanford Law School, and Win-Chiat Lee, Wake Forst College The volume is published by Springer Science and Business Media as part of a series entitled AMINTAPHIL: The Philosophical Foundations of Law and Justice.
