NWS Watch, Warning, Advisory Overlay

MesoWest has been designed for use by National Weather Service meteorologists and other professionals for protection of life and property. Comments and suggestions for improvement are encouraged and can be sent to meteo-mesowest@lists.utah.edu.

The NWS watches, warnings, and advisories for the continental U.S. can be displayed as a map overlay. The graphics are generated by the Iowa Environmental Mesonet and are updated every 5 minutes. The NWS significance levels are color coded as follows: warning (red), watch (orange), advisory (yellow), and statement (tan). The specific phenomena are defined by the VTEC Code as follows:
