Tuition, Scholarships, and Financial Aid
The University of Utah is one of the best bargains in America. For the
2004-2005 Academic Year, annual tuition (assuming 15 credit hours in
the fall and spring semester) was just under $4,100 for Utah residents
and $12,600 for out-of-state residents. Lower out-of-state tuition
(equal to in-state plus 50%) is available to residents of the 13
western states participating in the Western Undergraduate Exchange Program. Students are also encouraged to apply for financial aid and university scholarships.
The College of Mines and Earth Sciences and the Department of
Meteorology offer a number of undergraduate scholarships including the
Departmental (full tuition), Kennecott ($2,500), Kennecott Merit
($1,500), Department Kao ($1,000), Department Gift ($500), Alumni
($600), and Dean's Office (varies from $250-$750) Scholarships. All
scholarships require a minimum GPA of 3.0, full-time enrollment (12
credits or more), and a declared major of meteorology. The deadline for
application is 1 February annually. Contact the Department of Meteorology for more information and application forms.
