The meteorology minor provides students with an introduction to the impacts of the atmosphere upon society. A minor in meteorology provides a way to diversify a student's background and apply fundamental scientific principles in an interdisciplinary way. Students must complete six required courses in the department selected in consultation with a meteorology adviser. A common course sequence for liberal arts majors is 1010, 1020, 2810, 3000, 3100, and 3110. Engineering and science majors should contact an adviser for an appropriate alternative course sequence (for example, 2810, 3100, 3410, 5110, 5210, and 5410). All meteorology courses must be passed with a letter grade of C- or higher, with the exception of 2810 which is offered pass/fail.
