The Department of Meteorology at the University of Utah invites
applications from motivated M.S. and Ph.D. students for graduate
research assistantships starting during Fall semester 2004. The campus is at the base
of the Wasatch Mountains, two miles east of the center of Salt Lake City.

Faculty research areas include cloud and boundary layer modeling, tropical convection, hurricanes, cloud physics,
remote sensing of clouds and precipitation, regional climate,
mountain meteorology and climate, numerical weather prediction, mesoscale
modeling and data assimilation, and cloud parameterization in climate
models.
